How to Become a Formula 1 Driver

Print this article
Formula 1 is the highest level of open wheel racing in the world. Some of the most legendary race car drivers in history-Mario Andretti, Ayrton Senna, Jim Clark and Michael Schumacher-have piloted cars around the circuit's fabled tracks. Natural talent, years of practice and sheer luck define the road to becoming a Formula 1 driver.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

1
Get involved with karting at a young age. Most Formula 1 drivers begin their racing careers behind the wheel of a kart by the age of ten. Visit the World Karting's homepage (See Resource section below). Find a list of tracks in your area that are sanctioned by the World Karting Association, the authority for karting in the United States.

2
Attend racing school. Reputable racing schools offer multi-day classes at tracks throughout the country. Learn the basics of handling a more powerful open wheel car.

3
Move to Europe as a teenager. Get a ride in Formula 3 or Formula 3000. While a few drivers who honed their skills on the American circuits have successfully made the move to Formula 1, there is a much greater chance of success if you climb the racing ladder in Europe.

4
Race hard and move to teams that offer a greater chance to finish on the podium. Attract the attention of a Formula 1 boss by performing consistently well in the lower levels. Find a good agent to help promote you and capitalize on your success on the track.

5
Become a test driver for a Formula 1 team. It is preferable to start Formula 1 racing, but some current drivers first honed their skills as test drivers-developing race strategies through endless test laps as they learned the nuances of each track on the circuit.

6
Find funding to support your campaign. Smaller teams with more precarious funding consider taking a driver who brings sponsorship to the team.

How To Select The Right Candidate For Right Job!

Put about 100 bricks in some particular order in a closed room with an open window. Then send 2 or 3 candidates in the room and close the door. Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours and then analyze the situation.

If they are counting the bricks. Put them in the accounts department.

If they are recounting them. Put them in auditing.

If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks. Put them in engineering.

If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order. Put them in planning.

If they are throwing the bricks at each other. Put them in operations.

If they are sleeping. Put them in reception

If they have broken the bricks into pieces. Put them in information technology.

If they are sitting idle. Put them in human resources.

If they say they have tried different combinations, yet not a brick

has been moved. Put them in sales.

If they have already left for the day. Put them in marketing.

If they are staring out of the window. Put them on strategic planning.

And then last but not least......

If they are talking to each other and not a single brick has been moved. Congratulate them and put them in top management.

Tsukiji Fish Market

Tsukiji Central Wholesale Market is a large market for fish, fruits and vegetables in central Tokyo. It is the most famous of over ten wholesale markets that handle the distribution of fish, meat, produce and flowers in metropolitan Tokyo. Tsukiji Market is best known as one of the world's largest fish markets, handling over 2,000 tons of marine products per day.
The sight of the many kinds of fresh fish and other seafood and the busy atmosphere of scooters, trucks, sellers and buyers hurrying around, make Tsukiji Market a major tourist attractions. In fact, the numbers of visitors have increased so much over recent years, that they have become a problem to the course of business, as the aging market's infrastructure was not anticipated to serve as a tourist spot.

Tsukiji Market consists of an inner market where most of the wholesale business and the famous tuna auctions are taking place, and an outer market whose retail shops and restaurants carter to the public. A few restaurants are also found in the inner market. In order to avoid interference with business, different rules should be followed when visiting the different areas of the market:

Japanese Bicycles

Bicycles are widely used in Japan for everyday life by people of all age groups and social standings. Commuting to school, work or to the closest railway station, picking up children from preschool or doing the daily groceries are among the activities commonly done by bicycle.

Types of Bicycles

In Japanese, bicycles are known as jitensha or charinko (slang). The most common bicycles for every day use are typically equipped with a basket and/or a child seat (or two), a simple lock, a kickstand and just one gear.
Basic everyday bicycles cost around 10,000 Yen (about US$ 100), while used ones are available for less. More advanced models with multiple gears, for example, are slightly more expensive.
Foldable bicycles, mountain bikes and road racing bicycles are getting more common, but are still vastly outnumbered by the inexpensive everyday bicycles.

Road Rules

In theory, bicycles are supposed to use the streets and not the sidewalks, except when signs indicate that the sidewalks are for common use by pedestrians and cyclists. In praxis, however, cyclists tend to use the sidewalks at all times.
Due to the high popularity of bicycles, there are dedicated bicycle parking areas near most railwaystations and shopping centers. Here and there you may even find multi-storey parking garages for exclusive use by bicycles.
Where there is a lack of designated parking space, bicycles will be ruthlessly parked even in clearly designated non-parking zones. In some areas, wrongly parked bicycles may be removed by the local authorities and can only get returned against a fine.

RACING CARS

In North America, stock car racing is the most popular form of auto racing.[12] Primarily raced on oval tracks, stock cars vaguely resemble production cars, but are in fact purpose-built racing machines which are built to tight specifications also called Silhouette racing cars.
The largest stock car racing governing body is NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR's premier series is the Sprint Cup Series, its most famous races being the Daytona 500, the Southern 500, the Coca-Cola 600, and the Brickyard 400. NASCAR also runs several feeder series, including the Nationwide Series, and Camping World Truck Series (a pickup truck racing series). The series conduct races across the entirecontinental United States. The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series conducts races across Canada and the NASCAR Corona Series conducts races acrossMexico.
NASCAR also governs several smaller regional series, such as the Whelen Modified Tour. Modified cars are best described as open-wheel cars. Modified cars have no parts related to the "stock" vehicle for which they are named after. A number of Modified cars display a "manufacturers" logo and "vehicle name", yet use components produced by another automobile manufacturer.

There are also other stock car governing bodies, such as Automobile Racing Club of America and United Speed Alliance Racing.
In the UK, British Stock car racing is also referred to as "Short Circuit Racing". This takes place on shale or tarmac tracks – usually around 1/4 mile in length. The governing bodies for the sport are the Oval Racing Council (ORC) and BriSCA. Both bodies are made up of individual stadium promoters. There are around 35 tracks in the UK and upwards of 7000 active drivers. The sport is split into three basic "divisions" – distinguished by the rules regarding car-contact during racing. The most famous championship is the BriSCA Formula One stock cars. Full contact formulas include Bangers, Bombers and Rookie Bangers – and racing features Demolitions Derbies, Figure of Eight racing and Oval Racing
Semi Contact Formulas include BriSCA F1, F2 and Superstox – where bumpers are used tactically.
Non-contact formulas include National Hot Rods, Stock Rods and Lightning Rods.
UK Stock car racing started in the 1950s and grew rapidly through the 60s and 70s.

Fans Flock To See Japan's Women's National Team Arrive Home As Tributes Flow.

The Japanese Prime Minister labels his nation's victory at the 2011 Women's World Cup "the greatest gift", as thousands of fans turn out see the team return home at Narita Airport.

Japan's women's national team has returned home to a rapturous welcome from thousands of fans who packed out Narita Airport after their World Cup triumph.
The Japanese team defeated the United States 3-1 on penalties in Sunday's final in Frankfurt after the two sides couldn't be split at 2-2 following 120 minutes of play.
The team, nicknamed 'Nadeshiko', were greeted at the airport by a huge gathering of supporters waving flags and wearing the side's uniform, who were there to celebrate the World Cup triumph and pay tribute to their heroes.
The side's efforts in winning the World Cup drew praise from the nation's Prime Minister, Naoto Kan, who said it was the “greatest gift” for Japan following on from the March natural disasters that devastated the country.
Japan Football Association (JFA) president Junji Ogura also praised the team.
"There is no happier president than a World Cup winner,"

"The players have showed the brilliance of Japanese women.”
Asian Football Confederation acting president Zhang Jilong said Japan's triumph was a major breakthrough for football in the world's biggest continent.
This is a great day for Asian football. The ‘Nadeshiko’ have made us all immensely proud. They have shown what is possible if one has the resolve, determination and persistence.
This is the biggest possible boost to women’s football in our continent and other member associations should try to emulate Japan’s example. I congratulate the JFA, its President Junji Ogura, coach Norio Sasaki, and all the players.”
