NABE party good for winter season here in Japan...
Nabe (Japanese hot pot) dishes are often cooked in winter. Various ingredients are simmered in donabe (clay pot) or tetsunabe (iron pot) at dining tables. A pot is shared by some people, so prepare small bowls for each person at the table. Mizutaki is a simple nabe dish with chicken and vegetables.
This looks so delicious. I love soup and will definitely try this hotpot. It doesn't seem too difficult to cook plus the ingredients should be easy to find here. I agree with SushiTail. Hotpot is always good to bring people together. Everyone gets to eat the components we likes to most, you can negotiate with your client while waiting for food getting broiled….. The mizutaki reminds me of the good days when I used to get together with my officemate work and had a good time. It's a perfect party food and it brings people together. ...
All of us wishing love to the world..... Japanese maid style like me....have fun and enjoy..

The Japanese Sake

Sake (pronounced /ˈsɑːkiː/ or /ˈsɑːkeɪ/ in English and [sake] in Japanese) is a Japanese alcholic beverage made from rice. This beverage is called sake in English, but in Japanese sake (酒) or o-sake (お酒) refers to alcoholic drinks in general. The Japanese term for this beverage is Nihonshu (日本酒), meaning "Japanese sake". Sake is also referred in English as rice wine. However, unlike true wine, in which alcohol is produced by fermenting the sugar naturally present in a fruit, sake is made through a brewing process more like that of beer.
Additionally, alcohol content also differs between sake, wine, and beer. Wine generally contains 9–16% alcohol and most beer is 3-9%, whereas undiluted sake is 18-20% alcohol, although this is often lowered to around 15% by diluting the sake to water prior to bottling.
In Japan, sake is served chilled at room temperature, or heated, depending on the preference of the drinker, the quality of the sake, and the season. Typically, hot sake is a winter drink, and high-grade sake is not drunk hot, because the flavors and aromas will be lost. This masking of flavor is the reason that low-quality sake is often served hot.
Sake is often consumed as part of Shinto purification rituals (compare with the use of grape wine in the Christian Eucharist). Those sakes, served to Gods as offering prior to drinking, are called Omiki or Miki (お神酒又は神酒). During World War II, kamikaze pilots drank sake prior to carrying out their missions.
In a ceremony called kagami biraki, wooden casks of sake are opened with mallets during Shinto festivals, weddings, store openings, sports and election victories, and other celebrations. Iwai-zake ("celebration sake"), is served freely to all to spread good fortune.
Enjoy Sake!

The autumn leaves with my latest car
This is a great day trip that I can take by my own car. And all i need is a good camera, good footware (no heels or flip-flops / thongs), some money (of course), and some mates. So I expect it to be a little cool and breezy. The autumn leaves there are spectacular. Before this, I love so much an autumn leaves, and especially thought it odd that men got excited about these. For me, it was a good Japanese experience, and a great photographic one, too. It’s autumn time now here in Japan after a humid summer. It is one of the best times in the year when one can enjoy cool weather, delicious food and great scenery. In Kyoto leaves will start changing colors from mid November, and have a great chance to see these autumn foliage colors on the backdrop of beautiful temples and shrines. History and culture become one with the beauty of nature in the charm of Kyoto, where you will never tire of the changing seasons. I also have many chances to see Japanese festivals in Autumn.
