Japanese Christmas Fun Facts:
- The above picture is a typical Japanese Christmas Cake. It’s something pretty much every family eats on Christmas. It’s usually store-bought, but they sometimes homemake them as well. I ordered mine several weeks ago from a local patisserie and I’m going to pick it up later today.
- In Japan they do have Santa Claus, and they call him Santa-san, and he is the onlyperson who gives presents. Family members do not generally give presents to one another—only the children will receive presents ‘from Santa-san.’
- Christmas Eve is one of the biggest days of the year for couples. It’s just as, if not more important than Valentine’s Day.
- Apparently they think that everyone in America eats chicken on Christmas, which is not the case as far as I know. At places like KFC and McDonalds and MOS Burger they have special “Christmas Chicken” deals going on, and I’m told that this is because they think this is some kind of American tradition.
- New Years is a much bigger holiday than Christmas here (as you would expect, I guess, from a non-Christian country). Whole families usually gather at the grandparents’ house for New Years, and it is celebrated for 3 days straight

Who can forget the Autobots''the little yellow bug' ? One of the main characters since Transformers Generation 1, Bumblebee is a small sized robot that was aYellow1952 Volkswagen Beetle (Bug) and later on, came to be known as Goldbug following a major rebuild by the Quintessons during the madness plague. In the comic(US) ongoing series, he has since changed the name back to Bumblebee. In Transformer 2007 Movie (Dreamworks), Bumblebee was portrayed first as a 1976 CAMARO and later on, changed to his alternate mode which is a sleek and stylish 2009 CHEVROLET CAMARO.
His main function is in the field of espionage. His size and speed enables him to access roads and places that others cannot. He can also adapt well in water environments making him vital in undersea operations.
Bumblebee is often seen as a robot wanting to be accepted, and more importantly, respected by other fellow Autobots, most of which are taller than him. He idolizes Prowl and OptimusPrime especially the leader of the Autobots to a great extent.
This makes him often taking unnecessary risks and to the point of endangering himself. He is also known as the weakest of the Autobots and the most easily damaged. All this do not allow Bumblebee to participate much, if any in Autobots' battles with the evil Decepticons but used just mostly as a spy and messenger.

The Sakura Festival
The first "Cherry Blossom Festival" was held in 1935 under joint sponsorship by numerous civic groups, becoming an annual event. The cherry trees had by this point became an established part of the nation's capitol. In 1938, plans to cut down trees to clear ground for the Jefferson Memorial prompted a group of women to chain themselves together at the site in protest. A compromise was reached where more trees would be planted along the south side of the Basin to frame the Memorial. A Cherry Blossom Pageant was begun in 1940.
On December 11, 1941, four trees were cut down. It is suspected that this was retaliation for the attack on Pearl Harbor by theEmpire of Japan
four days earlier, though this was never confirmed. In hopes of dissuading people from further attacks upon the trees during the war, they were referred to as "Oriental" flowering cherry trees for the war's duration. Suspended during World War II, the festival resumed in 1947 with the support of the Washington, D.C., Board of Trade and the D.C. Commissioners.[citation needed]
In 1948, the Cherry Blossom Princess and U.S. Cherry Blossom Queen program were started by the National Conference of State Societies. A Princess was selected from each state and federal territory, with a queen chosen to reign over the festival. In 1952, Japan requested help restoring the cherry tree grove at Adachi, Tokyo along the Arakawa River, which was the parent stock of the D.C. trees but had diminished during the war. In response, the National Park Service sent budwood back to Tokyo.
The Japanese ambassador gave a 300-year old stone lantern to the city of Washington to commemorate the signing of the 1854Japan-US Treaty of Amity and Friendship by Commodore Matthew C. Perry. For a number of years, the lighting of this lantern formally opened the Festival. Three years later, the president of the pearl company started by Mikimoto Kōkichi donated the Mikimoto Pearl Crown. Containing more than five pounds of gold and 1,585 pearls, the crown is used at the coronation of the Festival Queen at the Grand Ball. The next year, the Mayor of Yokohama gifted a stone pagoda to the City to "symbolize the spirit of friendship between the United States of America manifested in the Treaty of Peace, Amity and Commerce signed at Yokohama on March 31, 1854."

3. If the green light is not on in front, check the power cord connecting the monitor into the outlet.
4. If the green light is on, check the brightness level by using the buttons on the monitor.
5. Check the cable connection from the monitor into the computer or the equipment that links your computer to the TV monitor.
