This is located near Sendai where the tsunami hits last March 11, 2001
MATSUSHIMA BAY was hit by the earthquake and tsunami of March 11. Damage was not as devastating as elsewhere along the coast, and many tourist attractions, shops and hotels have reopened in the meantime. The JR Senseki Line, which provides the most convenient access to Matsushima, resumed service to the town on May 28.
