Ngapali is accessible by plane from Yangon to Thandwe, then continuing to the Beach via coach. Once you’re in Thandwe, Myanmar, it’s only seven kilometers to this three kilometer stretch of coconut palm lined, soft sandy meeting of the land and sea. You can also reach Ngapali Beach from Yangon through Pyay by road after driving for about sixteen hours or take a flight to Thandwe for about fifty minutes from Yangon and twenty minutes from Ma Zin Thandwe Airport. Thandwe is very ancient, and is said to have been at one time the capital of Rakhine State , then called Arakan. The district has an area of 3,784 square miles. It takes about 45 minutes flight from Yangon. If you come by car from Yangon, it takes about 12 hours by Nga Thine Chaung-Gwa road and about 20 hours by Pyay-Taung Gote road. This unspoiled beach stretching over 3 km with blue sea, white sand and swaying palm trees is 35 minutes flight from Yangon. Ngapali beach is one of the wonderful landmarks of Myanmar. This way it very likely will end into a unpleasant surprise since all traffic signs outside Mandalay and Yangon are in Myanmar language only and you wont find someone in the countryside you can talk in English with.
