4X4 Mozambique Beach & Bush Adventure

Mozambique is an extraordinary holiday destination and we're really quite excited about being able to offer this Johannesburg to Mozambique itinerary. Tourism is steadily growing in the country (mostly due to South African tourists), but it isn't a booming industry yet. This makes it an ideal time to travel. 

Mozambique has a mixture of African, Arabic and Portuguese influences. This gives the country a fun, lively atmosphere which differs greatly from surrounding countries. Mozambique has a broad, 2500km-long coastline of palm tree bordered beaches. They are all complimented by turquoise seas and lined with delicious fish restaurants. To top it all off, Mozambique has some of the worlds most beautiful coral reefs. It's not unusual to encounter sharks, stingrays, eels and rare fish such as the Zebra Murene, the Purple Butterfly Fish and the Tiger Fish on your Mozambique holiday.

Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg - 4X4 Pick Up - Blydepoort Total distance today is approximately 500 km On arrival into Johannesburg, you'll collect your luggage and our representative will be waiting to greet you after customs. He will take you to the 4X4 rental office, which is not far from the airport. You'll have all the time you need to go through all of the formalities and naturally, you'll want to check your 4X4 and camping equipment to ensure it's all working properly and shows no defects. Once this is taken care of, you're all set for your Johannesburg to Mozambique adventure! The first leg of your drive will take approximately 6 hours. You'll drive over the N4, past Witbank, on to the Eastern Province of Mpumalanga. Slowly but surely, the countryside will become more meadow-like and hilly and traffic will become scarce. After a while you will see the peaks of the Drakensberg and the impressive, in some areas 700 metre deep, gorge of the Blyde River Canyon. You'll spend the night at the Aventura Blydepoort Park campsite. There is a small shop and restaurant on the premises.
