Old World monkeys (family Cercopithecidae) of tropical Africa and Asia are distinguished by their close-set nostrils and differentiated thumbs, some also having cheek pouches and rumps with bare patches (callosities) of hardened skin. They includebaboons, langurs, macaques, and guenons.
