ANIME

ANIME
Anime is commonly defined as animation originating in Japan. (アニメ, an abbreviated pronunciation in Japanese of "animation", pronounced [anime] ( listen) in Japanese, but typically /ˈænɨmeɪ/ ( listen) or /ˈɑnimeɪ/ in English.) The definition sometimes changes depending on the context. In English-speaking countries, anime is also referred to as "Japanese animation".

While the earliest known Japanese animation dates to 1917, and many original Japanese cartoons were produced in the ensuing decades, the characteristic anime style developed in the 1960s—notably with the work of Osamu Tezuka—and became known outside Japan in the 1980s.
Anime, like manga, has a large audience in Japan and recognition throughout the world. Distributors can release anime via television broadcasts, directly to video, or theatrically, as well as online.
Both hand-drawn and computer-animated anime exist. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, commercials, andinternet-based releases, and represents most, if not all, genres of fiction. Anime gained popularity in East and Southeast Asia and also attained popularity in various communities throughout the world.

When was the first anime made in japan?
Answer:

The oldest known anime in existence was screened in 1917 - a two minute clip of a samurai trying to test a new sword on his target, only to suffer defeat. (though it was only pictures with a hand showing it)

THIRD LONGEST RIVER IN JAPAN

          ISHIKARI RIVER

Ishikari River (石狩川 Ishikari-gawa?) is a river in Hokkaidō, Japan. At 268 kilometres (167 mi)[1] in length, the river is the third longest in Japan and the longest in Hokkaidō. The river has a drainage area of 14,330 square kilometres (5,530 sq mi),[1] making it the second largest in Japan.
It rises from Mount Ishikari and flows through Asahikawa and Sapporo. Major tributaries of the river include Chūbetsu, Uryū, Sorachi and Toyohira. Until 40,000 years ago, it fell into the Pacific Ocean near Tomakomai. Lava from the volcanic Shikotsu mountains dammed up the river and moved its mouth to the Sea of Japan.
The name of the river is derived from the Ainu word winding river. As it suggests, the river once meandered in the Ishikari plain and was as long as the Shinano River, the longest river in Japan. Massive construction shortened the river by 100 kilometers and left many oxbow lakes (三日月湖 mikatsuki ko?, lit. crescent moon lake) in the plain.

5 Dont's When Sleeping

1. DON'T SLEEP WITH WATCH
Watches can emit a certain level of radioactivity. Though small, but if you wear your watch to bed for a long time, it might have adverse effects on your health.

2. DON'T SLEEP WITH PHONE
Putting the phone beside your bed or anywhere near you is not encouraged. Though some of us will use phones as alarm clocks, but please put the phone as far as possible. Scientists have proved that electrical items including mobile phone and television sets emit magnetic waves when used. These waves can cause disruptions to our nervous system. Therefore if you need to put your mobile phone near you, switch it off first.

3. DON'T SLEEP WITH MAKE UP
People who sleep with make up might have skin problems in the long run. Sleeping with make up will cause the skin to have difficulty in breathing and problem in perspiring. You will also need a much longer time to go
into deep sleep.

4. DON'T SLEEP WITH BRA
Scientists in America have discovered those that wear bras for more than 12 hours have a higher risk of getting breast cancer. So go to bed without it.

5. DON'T SLEEP WITH OTHERS' SPOUSE
You may never wake up again.

Naked Man Festival

A Hadaka Matsuri (裸祭り "Naked Festival") is a type of Japanese festival, or matsuri, in which participants wear a minimum amount of clothing; usually just a Japanese loincloth (called fundoshi), sometimes with a short happi coat, and rarely completely naked. Whatever the clothing, it is considered to be above vulgar, or everyday, undergarments, and on the level of holy Japanese shrine attire. Naked festivals are held in dozens of places throughout Japan every year, usually in the summer or winter. The most famous festival is held in Okayama, where the festival originated. Every year, over 9,000 men participate in this festival.

Shinto tradition believes that the Naked Man absorbs all bad luck and evil deeds from the men who touch him - no-one is sure, but the ritual may commemorate the end of a plague, as the Naked Man takes on the ills of the community and is then expelled from it.
It is a great honour to be chosen as the Shin-otokoa. It needs to be - first he must undergo elaborate purification rites by shaving off all the hair on his body. He then sets off through the streets, besieged by over 9000 men, all desperate to touch him. He is pummelled, chased, pulled over; he faints, is bruised and must spend an entire day in the thick of a heaving mass of loinclothed bodies while completely naked. When he finally arrives at his destination, the crowd jostle to grab any available part of his body for an hour or more before he can pay his respects to the Shinto deity of the shrine. Once he is dressed he is then shooed out of town to rid the town of all evil.
Only the men dressed in loincloths (fundoshi) and sandals (tabi) are allowed to touch the Naked Man and special bodyguards line the route to splash freezing water over them as the Naked Man draws near. This has the dual purpose of restraining the wild impulses of the loinclothed ones while creating an aura of mystery around the steaming man.

GREEN TEA

Green tea is made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing.

Shizuoka Green Tea

There is something special about Shizuoka. So special, in fact, that after many years of waging bitter war in his successful quest to unite the divided Japanese archipelago into one country, Tokugawa Ieyasu decided to settle, from all his many choices, in Shizuoka (then Sumpu). Thereupon he lived his remaining years in comfortable semi-retirement, and beginning in 1603, Japan entered into the unprecedented 265-year Edo Era of peace under the Tokugawa Shogunate. While residing in Shizuoka, Ieyasu directed the construction of Sumpu Castle and energized the village into a bustling city. Historical evidence shows that the greatest of all shoguns was an avid green tea drinker and even an accomplished master of chado (Japanese green tea ceremony).

LAKE ASHI

Lake Ashi Hakone is a popular tourist destination, famous for the pirate ships and picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and the floating torii of Hakone Shrine

Lake Ashi (芦ノ湖 Ashino-ko), often referred to as Hakone Lake, but formally known as Ashinoko Lake, is a scenic lake in the Hakone area of Kanagawa Prefecture in HonshuJapan. Lake Ashi is a crater lake that lies along the southwest wall of the caldera of Mount Hakone, a complex volcano. Lake Ashi is known for the numerous onsen (hot springs) in the area. Lake Ashi is also promoted for its views of Mt Fuji, however the chances of see Mt Fuji are low due to the frequent low cloud and mist. At best you will only see part of the Mt Fujicone.

Pirate ship, Lake Ashi

Several pleasure boats and ferries traverse the lake, providing scenic views for tourists and passengers. One of the boats is a full-scale replica of a man-of-war pirate ship.

Located in  in the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park in Japan,  Ashinoko, (Lake Ashi) is a wonderfully picturesque lake formed in the caldera of Mt. Hakone after the volcano's last erruption 3000 years ago. On clear days you will have incredible views of Mt Fujibeyond the lake.   There are plenty of trails throughout the area and I have only only explored a few of them.   Yes you can ride your bike through the National Parks of Japan.
Cruise boats, some of which look like pirate ships, are an interesting means of transportation along the lake where there are hotels and small towns located along the lake's shores.  Well worth a visit.
