The Wondrous One

INU YASHA ANIME

The series' plot follows a high school girl Kagome Higurashi who lives on the grounds of her family's hereditary Shintoshrine. When she goes into the well house to retrieve her cat, a centipede demon bursts out of the enshrined Bone Eater's Well and pulls her through it. As she leaves the well, Kagome appears in the Sengoku period of Japan. During the demon's previous attack, a magical jewel known as the Sacred Jewel of Four Souls was embodied from Kagome. She then becomes the demon's target and it tries to consume the jewel and kill Kagome. In desperation, Kagome unseals the half-demon InuYasha who was placed on a tree fifty years ago by Kagome's ancestor Kikyo, the youngmiko of the village in charge of the sacred jewel. Although InuYasha destroys the centipede, the Sacred Jewel is later shattered into numerous shards that disperse across Japan. Even the individual shards are capable of granting great power, and are eagerly sought by humans and demons alike. Kagome and InuYasha set out to collect the shards to avoid disasters caused by Sacred Jewel of Four Souls.
Along the way, they join forces with Shippo, a small fox demon, Miroku, a monk who suffers from a curse his ancestors were given by a powerful demon, and Sango, a demon-slayer whose clan was killed by a group demons. They are mainly opposed by Naraku, a devious and powerful collective half-demon who manipulated the initial conflict between Kikyo and InuYasha, Sango's clan's destruction and was responsible for Miroku's curse. Naraku collects the shards for himself and continues setting up traps on the protagonists to take Kagome's jewels. Other people they find are InuYasha's older half-brother Sesshomaru, who wishes to kill Naraku after he tried to manipulate him, Kikyo, now partially resurrected with a fragment of Kagome's soul, and a wolf demon named Koga, most of whose comrades were killed by Naraku's forces.
Eventually, Naraku collects all of the shards and reassembles the Jewel of Four Souls. Although InuYasha and his allies defeat him, Naraku uses his power as the Jewel's owner to wish for Kagome's soul to be trapped inside it with his own, which would allow Naraku to survive within it in eternal conflict with her. Kagome wishes for the Jewel to disappear forever. She is thrown back into her own time and loses contact with InuYasha. However, after three years, Kagome graduates high school and comes to a realization which allows the well to work again. Kagome returns to the feudal era, where she stays forever with InuYasha.

But this is not the only marvel on this 166 square mile island paradise. There are more tourist attractions per square mile than in any other Caribbean Island.
All of the Barbados tourist attractions will provide you with a fascinating insight into the many things that make this island uniquely Barbadian... Like chattel houses, Green Monkeys, Great Houses, Road Tennis, The Tuck Band and the Bajan Land-ship.

On your exploration you will discover a fascinating world where miles of coral reefs are alive with some of the most colourful sea creatures you can imagine...
This page gives you an overview of the many Barbados tourist attractions. For more detail information follow the links.
The small nature of the island and the extensive network of paved roads make seeing all of the island’s attractions from North to South a breeze.
I grew up in Northern Barbados and I must say driving and exploring in the North is a pleasant experience, as you head deep into rural Barbados.
The drive itself is beautiful: the magnificent coastal views, the peace and tranquility, the rugged Atlantic coastline, the gently rolling landscape, the colourfully painted houses, the lush green of the fields and the spectacular tropical blooms...
But along with the drive, there are a number of must-see Barbados tourist attractions like...

Animal Flower Cave

The Animal Flower Cave located at the extreme north of the island, is an amazing creation of the sea. The cave got its name from the Sea Anemones or sea worms that can be found there.
This Barbados tourist attraction consists of a large cave with many chambers and natural pools. This natural geological wonder is also a great place to host your Barbados wedding. Two weddings have been hosted at the cave the most recent in October 2006.

Morgan Lewis MIll

Morgan Lewis Mill was originally built in the 18th century to grinded the sugar cane during harvest time. It was one of the many mills dotting the landscape of Barbados during that early era when sugar was king.
Barbados Tourist Attractions
This tourist attraction now falls under the Barbados National Trust; it was restored and is now the largest complete windmill in the Caribbean.
A must see part of Barbadian heritage… maybe this mill is a reminder from our ancestors, that a tropical paradise needs renewable energy.

St. Nicholas Abbey

St. Nicholas Abbey is one of the majestic great houses of Barbados it has been well preserve for the past 350 years. This 17th century house is perhaps the last such house anywhere in the world.
Barbados Tourist Attractions
This property is now one the island’s heritage sites and tourist attraction it also proudly represents an era when sugar was king on the island.
The next major tourist attraction in the north of Barbados is the Wildlife Reserve. This natural habitat for the animals is tucked away in a grove of mahogany trees overlooking the scenic Scotland district.

Barbados Wildlife Reserve

The Barbados wildlife reserve. is the perfect place to observe the Barbados Green Monkeys and a host of other animals in their natural environment.
Central Barbados is just as beautiful as the Northern villages but more important it is home to some amazing tourist attractions. If you want to be truly fascinated by what Barbados has to offer Harrison’s Cave is the place to tour.

Harrisons Cave

Harrisons cave is the leading attraction in Barbados; it is located within close proximity to a number of other wonderful attractions.
What ever you do make sure you allow time for a visit to Harrison’s Cave. I am sure as you make your trip through this three mile underground, crystallized limestone cavern you will stare in awe at the magnificent geological features this natural wonder has to offer.

And you can’t help but notice icicle shaped stalactites hanging from the roof reflecting the glimmering light of the impressive stalagmites rising from the ground.
And like I did you too will gaze in wonder at the mirror lake, a large pool whose surface reflects the formation of this great wonder.

Welchman Hall Gully

Welchman Hall Gully is another attraction in central Barbados. This three and a quarter mile long lush green tropical forest reserve is the home to many exotic trees and plants, these include bamboo, clove, nutmeg and a variety of palms.
Welchman Hall Gully is one of the island’s most magical places; its tranquility radiates the kind of calm that can only come from Mother Nature.
Another of central attraction in Barbados is the Flower Forest. It is located approximately three minutes drive away from Harrison’s Cave and some 850 feet above sea level.
