The Integrated Communication Manager of Coca-Cola Nigeria, Mr Femi Adelusi, told journalists at the event in Lagos on Saturday that ‘’the tree is the tallest Christmas tree in Africa’’.
"What we have been doing for four years now is to construct the tallest Christmas tree in Africa which is about 33 metres high.
"It has now become a tradition and every year the company improves on it and put the customers and consumers at the centre of the activities,’’ he said.
Adelusi said that this year’s Christmas tree was higher by one metre than that of last year, which was 32 metres high.
The unveiling of the Christmas tree was marked by fireworks exploding in the firmament that lasted for about 30 minutes prior to the lighting of the tree.
A large screen on which was projected "Open up to happiness" message also served as the back-drop behind the stage. The guests and consumers of Coca –Cola were also thrilled with Christmas carols.
"What Coca-Cola is doing is to provide a venue for consumers to rejoice and relax with their families and friends this season of love and share in the joy of the season.
Adelusi said that no fees would be required to be paid by fun seekers to have a good time at the venue and that visitors would not be compelled to buy any of its products before entering the place.
