Chan’s Megastick (Phobaeticuschani)
Found on the island of Borneo in the Malaysian State of Sabah, the Chan’s megastick is officially the longest insect species to exist. The record breaking insect is thought to reside in the rainforest canopy making it difficult to find. One of the most amazing things about Chan’s megastick is the eggs that the females lay. Each one has small wing-like extensions on its side enabling it to drift in the wind, increasing the species’ range.
